Lincoln City Football Club, often referred to simply as Lincoln, is a professional football team based in Lincoln, England. Founded in 1884, the club plays its home matches at Sincil Bank Stadium, which has a capacity of around 10,000. Lincoln City competes in the English Football League (EFL) League One, the third tier of English football. The team is nicknamed "The Imps," a reference to local folklore. Lincoln has a rich history, including notable achievements in the FA Cup, and gained attention for its remarkable run in the competition during the 2016-2017 season, becoming the first non-league club to reach the quarter-finals in over a century.
